Tyrus was a male Satyr who lived in hiding during the Telmarine rule of Narnia.

History[]

When Caspian X appeared before the Narnians at the Dancing Lawn, Tyrus joined the Narnian Revolution.

During the revolution, he fought for the Old Narnians against King Miraz and his Telmarine army. It is possible that he was the head Satyr in the Old Narnian army.

Tyrus participated in the Telmarine Castle Night Raid, but died when he tried to make an attempt to attack Miraz, only for Glozelle to shoot him with a crossbow, followed by Miraz pushing him off the balcony.

Tyrus falls to his death.

Peter saw this, and was about to avenge Tyrus, but then he saw that the Telmarine crossbowmen were lined up around the castle-walls.

They were about to close the gates, with the intention of shooting their arrows down on everyone. He had to order a retreat, otherwise the Narnians would have all been slaughtered within the castle courtyard.

Description[]

Tyrus was a seemingly elder Satyr, with very long curved horns, brown fur with a patch of white fur for a beard and moustache. He wore armour, including a spiked shoulder-plate. His favoured choice of weapon was a scimitar.

Behind the Scenes[]

Tyruscomiccon

Anamatronic head of Tyrus.

  • Tyrus' failed attempt to kill Miraz is uncannily similar to Coleman Trebor's attempt to attack Count Dooku in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones. Both Tyrus and Trebor leap up to a viewing balcony where the leader of the enemy forces is waiting, only to be dispatched by Miraz/Dooku's second-in-command, Glozelle/Jango Fett. In both cases, if they had been successful, it could have changed the course of the movie greatly. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPX9mrvW_s0
  • An anamatronic head of Tyrus was shown at the 2007 Comic-Con.
  • There is an action figure based on Tyrus.
  • He is a playable character in Prince Caspian game on two missions on the Castle Assault level and several bonus levels.
