Pittencream was a Galmian sailor. He was the only sailor aboard the Dawn Treader who stays on Ramandu's Island. Originally, there were three who did not wish to journey to the Utter East, though the other two abandon him and rejoin the crew of the Dawn Treader. This leaves him alone on the island with Ramandu, his daughter, and the three sleeping lords, and gives him, not unnaturally, no one to talk to. He spends his time there wishing that he continued on the voyage with the rest on the ship. After he was picked up by the ship on its return voyage, he deserted at the Lone Islands and decided to live out his days in Calormen, telling tales of the epic voyage to the edge of the world, eventually coming to believe them himself.
