Otmin
From WikiNarnia, the Narnian Encyclopedia
| Movie-based Information The following information originates from the Chronicles of Narnia movies, as opposed to C. S. Lewis' seven books. |
- "Look to the sky!"
- ―Otmin[src]
Otmin was a black-furred male Minotaur and the general of the White Witch's Army, as such he was a servant of the White Witch Jadis. He lived during the Hundred-Year Winter, and was regarded as a skilled tactician.
Shortly before the Battle of Beruna Otmin talked with the White Witch in a war council, held at their war camp. During their council Edmund Pevensie was saved by a small contingent of Aslan's forces led by the centaur Oreius. He later escorted the witch to Aslan's camp near the Stone Table and waited as his queen bargained over Edmund's life. When the Lion arrived at the stone table, it was Otmin who, at the Witch's prompting knocked Aslan to the ground.
After the Lion's death, Otmin led his queen's army at the Battle of Beruna, which was his only known battle. He fearlessly led the first charge, and after alerting his archers to the Gryphons who were pummeling his men with boulders he took down many centaurs with his axe and sword. He soon fought against Oreius, and after a small skirmish with the Centaur, fell with Oreius's swords in his back.
