Human beings were the one sentient inhabitant of the World of Earth with most notably two hands, two legs (standing erect), a chest, and a head. Humans made their way into the World of Narnia even as early as its very creation, however they are not native to Narnia. In Narnia, (due to the beliefs in Christianity) a male human was called a Son of Adam and a female human was called a Daughter of Eve.

Humans were always the leaders of the Kingdom of Narnia and Archenland, and the only non-human leader of Narnia was Jadis, who was half-jinn, half-giant, despite her humanoid appearance. Certain other Narnian species, such as Black Dwarfs in particular, often discriminated against humans because they believed since humans were not native to the World of Narnia, they should not be considered the rightful rulers.

Humans continue to be the only sentient inhabitants of Earth. All the humans seen in the books to enter into Narnia, have been from England. However in the movie Prince Caspian the Telmarines speak with a slight Spanish accent, explained by the fact that they were descended from pirates who came to Narnia through a portal in a cave. The Calormenes may also have originally entered the world of Narnia from Earth by some similar means.
