Throughout the Chronicles of Narnia, certain individuals and groups are identified with heraldic symbols. In some cases this identification is explicitly stated and described in detail, while in others interpretation may be involved, as the symbols are only known through the books' illustrations:
- The shield given to Peter Pevensie by Father Christmas was silver in colour and bore the device of a red lion.[1]
- After he was freed from the enchantment placed upon him by the Lady of the Green Kirtle, the blank, black shield used by Prince (later King) Rilian assumed this same imagery.[2]
- In the Disney/Walden Media film of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, the Four Thrones of Cair Paravel each bore a heraldic image related to one of the Pevensie siblings.
- Edmund: A sword shattering the White Witch's wand, in reference to his act of bravery in the First Battle of Beruna.
- Peter: The hilt of his sword, Rhindon, which he received from Father Christmas.
- Susan: The horn she received from Father Christmas.
- Lucy: The vial of healing cordial she received from Father Christmas.
- While not heraldry in the traditional sense, Calormene Tarkaans seem to wear a specific kind of gold ornament on their arm to signify their status.[3]
- During the Golden Age of Narnia under the rule of the Pevensies, the heraldic banner of Narnia consisted of a red lion on a green field.[4]
- The soldiers who escorted Prince Cor of Archenland to visit the Hermit of the Southern March bore devices resembling Maltese crosses on their tunics.[5]
- For his duel with Peter Pevenise, King Miraz wore a tunic emblazoned with a bird of prey in the "Displayed " position.[6]
- Lord Octesian belonged to a great house of Telmarine Narnia whose heraldic device was a hammer topped by a diamond star, as seen on his arm ring discovered on Deathwater Island.[7]
- Lords Argoz, Revilian, and Mavramorn wore rings bearing identifying symbols when the fell into the enchanted sleep at Aslan's Table, but they were not described in detail.[8]
- A Calormene banner seen during their invasion of Narnia bore an image of their supreme god, Tash.[9]
